Carrun Squires Naturopath
Natural Health Solutions

Naturopathy utilises a combination of natural therapeutics and treatment may include herbal medicine, nutritional medicine or homoeopathic medicine in addition to dietary guidance and lifestyle advice.

Your Naturopath may draw on naturopathic diagnostic techniques such as hair, tongue and nail analysis and iridology as well as utilising medical diagnostic tests and assessments. These together with a detailed case history, forms the basis of the therapeutic care plan.

Your Naturopath works confidently in conjunction with your other health care providers and where necessary and with your consent, will notify them of treatment you are receiving to ensure a safe combined approach.

Naturopathic care is excellent treatment for acute and chronic conditions affecting people of all ages, from children to the elderly, and can be used in conjunction with conventional medicine. An important naturopathic aim is to educate, empower and support you so that you can take a more active role in your own health care. By helping you adopt a healthy attitude and diet, you are guided to build a lifestyle that supports you and your family’s health and wellbeing. Naturally!

Herbal Medicine

Various remedies derived from plant parts are used to improve health, prevent disease and treat illness. Herbal Medicine has become more mainstream as recent evidence-based research confirms its value in the treatment and prevention of disease. Plant substances have been used for thousands of years to promote recovery, health and well-being; and are the foundation of modern pharmacology. Your prescription may include herbs as a specifically blended medicine or in the form of tablets / capsules.

Nutritional Medicine

Much ill health occurs from poor diet and many long standing health problems may be effectively treated once nutrient deficiencies, excesses or sensitivities have been identified. Often a condition improves through changes in diet alone.

As every individual is different, no one diet is appropriate for everyone. Through careful analysis of each person’s dietary choices and preferences, nutritional strategies can be applied to address health concerns or treat illness. While a healthy diet is of the utmost importance supplementation is often necessary to correct deficiencies while diet is being improved, to help maintain sufficient levels and produce specific desired effects. Because nutritional needs may vary dramatically from one person to another, prescribed treatment may include nutritional supplementation and / or special diets, tailored to your individual needs.

Based on the theory that “like cures like” and that health dysfunction can be remedied by stimulating the body’s own defences against the illness, homoeopathy can be a powerful remedy. Homoeopathic medicines can be applied in acute cases of ill health and also in chronic conditions and they can affect change on a physical, emotional and mental level.

Flower Essences

Each remedy is aligned with a different emotional state and can be given alone or mixed together to make an individualised formula to assist with correcting emotional imbalance. These remedies work in subtle ways to bring about changes in emotional state which can subsequently influence physical health.
